PLANT CHARACTERISTICS: Advent
Red is well suited for producing all sizes and forms. It is vigorous and well
suited for specimen forms but can be easily controlled in smaller 4” and 6”
forms. The normal flower
initiation date is approximately 7 to 10 days earlier than most other
poinsettia cultivars, influencing the early flowering characteristics of the
plant. . Chemical growth regulator applications may
be necessary for this cultivar, and Advent
Red is responsive to A-Rest®, Bonzi®, Cycocel®, Sumagic® or combinations of
B-Nine® and Cycocel®. In smaller 4” and 6” containers consider growing this
cultivar on a shorter schedule to reduce the need for growth regulating. This
cultivar is resistant to epinasty.
