Encinitas, California – The Paul Ecke Ranch has joined with noted craft designer Judi Kauffman to create project ideas incorporating dried poinsettias and poinsettia motifs for holiday cards and decorations, home décor and wearables. Projects available for publication or television demonstrations include: Cards and decorations: Dried poinsettias are incorporated into greeting cards, collage photo frames, and laminated hanging ornaments. Dimensional felt poinsettias edge the cuff of lush Christmas stockings and tree skirt. Easily carved rubber stamps are printed onto cards, fabric, and more. Moldable foam blocks impressed with poinsettia leaves add photo-realism to envelopes, notepaper, and cards. Home Décor: Poinsettias take center stage in a variety of techniques including foundation piecing (a simple template-free quilting technique), appliqué (hand, machine, and “no-sew” fusible), stencils and fabric markers. Projects include pillows, wall hangings, mantel topper, table runner, napkins, place mats, and more. Wearables: Apron with matching hot pad, denim or velvet jacket with poinsettia appliqué, embroidered poinsettia on child’s dress, and more.
